Carboxytherapy

How does it work?

Carbon dioxide is infused into the skin, causing an acidic environment to develop. This signals our skin cells to secure oxygen to the tissue in the treated region and accumulate natural vascular endothelial growth factors. Within several days after the treatment there is an increased natural distribution of oxygen in the places of application, a completely new microcirculation is created, lymphoid drainage is increased - skin regeneration is achieved in a natural way.

Our bodies naturally produce carbon dioxide, but when injected directly into specific areas, it encourages an increased flow of oxygen, improving circulation. The increase in oxygen underneath scarred or darkened skin from Carboxy injections can enhance blood circulation and new cell production, helping to improve the texture and brighten the skin on the treated areas. In addition to restoring skin to a more natural colour, using Carboxytherapy also works to reduce inflammation, further enhancing the results of the treatment.

This CO2 treatment can provide fantastic results. Carboxytherapy for the face and body is perfectly safe and effective when carried out by qualified professional.

What can be treated?

Carboxytherapy is a revolutionary treatment that uses carbon dioxide to reduce the appearance of scars, alopecia, stretch marks and diminish dark under-eye circles. It is also an effective form of treatment for fat reduction, working to encourage the disposal of fat cells.

How long do the effects last?

The effects of a Carboxytherapy treatment are cumulative – with every subsequent treatment improving the results of the previous.  For this reason, depending on the desired results, the treatment can be carried out as a one off treatment or as a series of between 4 to 8 treatments conducted once every 7 to 14 days.

After having a course of carboxytherapy treatments, the average longevity of results will vary depending on your age, after this time frame another course of treatments would be recommended:

Age 50+ : Approximately 2-3 months

Age 40+ : Approximately 3-4 months

Age 20 - 40 : Approximately 4-6 months

Is there any downtime?

This minimally invasive treatment can offer long-lasting improvements without downtime.

During the treatment you may feel a slight tingling and the treated area can become mildly red due to a sudden deposit of oxygen. Within 5 minutes post treatment, the carbon dioxide applied to the skin is completely replaced by oxygen. There is no recovery period required, you can go back to your usual activities after treatment.
